HELISKIING CANADA

EQUIPMENT
Good equipment and clothing is essential to a positive snowcat skiing vacation. It is important to visualize each day, as a backcountry expedition. Being prepared for a variety of winter conditions is very important.

   SKI BOARDING CANADA
We highly recommend skis designed for powder snow. You are welcome to bring your own "powder skis", and the new mountain skis will do the job as well. Most skiers rent our fat skis made by Volkl, Atomic or Rossignol with Solomon bindings. Your bindings will be set-up by a certified ski technician in our shop at the start of your holiday. Oowder skis are enthusiastically used by our experienced guides, as well as previous snowcat skiers. They make the job of turning in variable snow conditions effortless for advanced skiers and allow less experienced powder skiers to feel confident and capable.
The booking form has a space for your height and weight. We're not being nosey... but the ski length is determined by the combination of these two factors. Also, this information helps us plan groups for the helicopter.
Hats &/or Helmets
If you choose to wear a helmet, we recommend the type that have the fabric ear covers, as it is difficult to hear the guide's/your group's instructions with a racing-style helmet.
Layered Clothing
Snowcat skiing, as well as our other exciting winter activities, will cause you to generate heat when you're active, and cool down during sitting/waiting periods. For your outer layer we highly recommend a one-piece suit OR pants with a good bib feature that protects your core, plus a well-designed jacked with powder flaps, zipper covers, good pockets and quality fabrics. Wou'll need somewhere for your little toiletry items, accessories and goggle wipes!
