TRIP DETAILS

Trip Highlights
Day 1:
Arrival the night before. An early evening get together with the guides. This allows you the opportunity to meet the guides you will be spending time with and allows for a brief discussion on the different activities and what to expect. Snacks and beverages included. Day One - Snow Shoeing am Spend time with your guide using a historic form of Canadian travel through pristine mountain scenery. The skills are easy to learn and the pace is relaxed. Your guide will assist you in learning how to use your snow shoes on a variety of terrain at a level comfortable for you. Learn Native lore on plants and some history of the people who lived here. pm Enjoy a campfire lunch where you will learn traditional methods of fire lighting and how to build a fire in many different weather conditions. This includes examples of different fire types and their uses and of course, the best type of fire for keeping you warm (it’s not what you think!).
Day 2:
Dog Sledding. This hands-on activity will have you assisting the guides with harnessing the dogs and attaching them to the sleds. Once ready to go, you will enjoy an exhilarating ride on the sled with breathtaking views of the Spray Valley. pm This is your time. You may want to do some shopping in the specialty stores on Canmore’s main street or immerse yourself in the local history at the Mining Museum or the Centennial Museum (old RCMP Barracks). Your hosts will be happy to share some local points of interest with you and guide you in the right direction.
Day 3:
A guided cross-country ski tour to take in the views of some of the beautiful snowcapped mountains. Terrain is easy to moderate depending on ability and comfort level. Equipment, lessons and lunch are included.
