Drive To Fishing Camps - Lakes
Drive-to lake fishing camps are located throughout Canada. These trips are well suited to the budget minded do-it-yourself angler who wants to set their own schedule and fish hard! Drive-to camps do not involve floatplane transfers and the overall costs are greatly reduced. Camps offer more rustic accommodations and amenities, and anglers usually look after their own cooking and guiding. Lake trout, northern pike, bass and walleye are the main fish that can be caught depending on the location. Fishing techniques vary, but trolling, casting or vertical jigging are all effective methods. The fly fisherman can also do very well with either sinking or surface presentations. Prime fishing season in Canada's road accessible lakes runs from ice-out (May) to October.
