|
|
Welcome to the largest winter lodge in Manitoba, Canada on Lake Athapapuskow. Accessible by air or by road, this lodge offers one of the best locations in the world for viewing the aurora borealis (northern lights). Just as breathtaking as the summer months, winter brings a whole new sense of adventure and thrill to northern Manitoba. In the cold winter evenings the aurora come out to put on one of the most awesome displays of nature. Sit out on the deck or enjoy the show from the outdoor hot tub. From the beauty of sparkling frozen waters, snow covered trees, icicles on rooftops, to the frolicking of wildlife as they leave behind their distinctive and enticing trails in the snow, nothing short of a winter wonderland unfolds. At the lodge there is never an opportunity to succumb to cabin fever. Besides viewing the aurora borealis, there are so many adrenalin pumping and heart pounding winter activities available that are sure to spark a little adventure in anyone. Just because summer ends and winter begins does not mean that you have to hang up your fishing rod for another year. The ice fishing at the lodge is excellent. The lodge also offers snowmobiling, dogsledding, trapline excursions, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, tobagganing and ice skating.
