Fantastic heli-skiing in the Chilcotin Mountains

If you are looking for a combination of excellent terrain, weather, temperatures and snow conditions, then this heli-skiing adventure in the Chilcotin Mountains is the ideal trip. Seasoned skiers and snowboarders are always on the lookout for the best snow riding adventures and this lodge package offers some of the best in the world. Set amongst the magnificent Chilcotin Mountains, you will experience a great variety of open bowls and challenging tree skiing. Many runs start on the high alpine glaciers and end well below the tree line, deep in the valley bottoms. The average footage skied per week is approximately 130,000 vertical feet. This resort has excess of 300 runs in an area of 830,000 acres and the amount of skiing done on any given day is determined by the desires of the skiers. The heli-pads are located right at the lodge and in minutes you will be wisked away into this extensive ski area.

At the end of an exciting day on the mountain, you will return to the comforts of a wilderness lodge and enjoy excellent food, western charm and a relaxing evening in the games room or a soak in the hot tub. There is lots to do for the non-skier as well, and the lodge offers numerous indoor and outdoor activities including snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing. This area is also offers superb snowboarding opportunities.

Season: January 2012 to April 2012
Requirements: Powder skis and equipment and/or snowboards. Ski rentals available.
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses.
Suggested Clothing: One piece ski suit is recommended, fleece underclothes, long underwear, ski boots, gloves, hat, goggles, scarf, snow boots.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Restrictions: Participants should have intermediate to advanced skiing skills. A good level of fitness is recommended.
Equipment Provided: Helicopter transfers, use of the resort facilities, avalanche transceivers.
Transportation: The lodge is located north of Gold Bridge, BC on Tyaughton Lake. Package includes transfers to the resort and are provided by a courtesy bus from Vancouver or Whistler Resort.
Accommodations: Accommodations are at a remote mountain lodge in spacious double or single rooms, all with ensuite washrooms. The lodge has a full dining room, fireplace, gift shop, lounge, games room, fitness room, sauna and outdoor hot tub.
Meal Information: Delicious home-cooked meals are prepared daily.
Guide Information: Your guides are highly qualified, enthusiastic and friendly. They are all members of the A.C.M.G. and U.I.A.G.M and are trained in snow safety procedures.
Weather Information: Winter temperatures are well suited for skiing and range between -5 to -15 degrees Celsius. The average snowfall at 5900 feet is approximately 45 to 60 feet which leaves an average base of 10 to 12 feet of snow on the ground.
Comments: All packages are semi-private and you will ski with a maximum of only TWO groups per helicopter.
