ABOUT THIS REGION  DOGSLEDDING

Dogsledding tour along the Yukon Quest Trail

Travel the historic Yukon Quest Trail on this authentic dogsledding expedition. The Yukon Quest Trail follows historic Gold Rush and Mail Delivery routes from the turn of the 20th Century. Once the travel highways of the Northern frontier, the trail is now a popular route for dogsledding enthusiasts. This trip begins with 3 days of training with the dog teams, based from the guide's home cabins. You then make a dog team trip to a beautiful cabin on the Yukon Quest trail. The trip in to the cabin takes two days on the way in. You camp half way and then get to the cabin on the second afternoon. Once in at the cabin, you can mush on the Yukon Quest trail towards Braeburn one day, and towards Frank Lake another day. The cabin is also a beautiful place for a rest day.

On Day 8, you hitch up the dog teams for the trip back home. Depending on trail conditions, you may make the trip back to the home cabins in one day or two days. If you make the journey back in one day, then on Day 9, you can have an optional rest day at the home cabins or make a dog sledding day trip on another beautiful trail near home. On Day 10, you return by dog team across Lake Laberge to meet the van/truck that takes you back to Whitehorse.
