ABOUT THIS REGION  CANOEING - RIVER TRIPS

Canoeing trip on the Snake River

This challenging canoe trip on the Snake River is truly a wilderness expedition. On this canoeing trip, you will be dropped off by floatplane at Duo Lakes, and make your way through magnificent alpine valleys in the shadows of the Mackenzie Mountains. Your canoeing journey ends about 300 km downstream, where the Snake River joins the mighty Peel River. There is plenty of time along the way to trek into the mountains or do some fishing for arctic grayling and dolly varden char. Wildlife encounters with moose, dall sheep, caribou, grizzly bear or wolves are common.

Canoeing trip on the Snake River

Paralleling the border of the Yukon and Northwest Territories, the Snake River is one of the most remote northern rivers that offers superb mountain hiking without the mosquitoes of the tundra. This river is known for its exciting Class II whitewater and beautiful scenery.
