ABOUT THIS REGION  WHITEWATER RAFTING

Whitewater rafting from Jasper, Alberta

The Jasper area of Alberta has some of the best whitewater rafting in western Canada. These trips offer a wide spectrum of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Whether it's a gentle float in an oar powered raft or a plunge down a roaring whitewater river in a paddle raft, we have the Canadian Rockies rafting trip for you. If you are looking for an easy introduction to rafting or a family-friendly trip than the Athabasca River is a good choice. Designated as a Canadian Heritage River because of it's scenic beauty and history of fur trade exploration, the Atha-B is a river that all can enjoy. Under your guide's expert direction you will travel in 6 to 10 passenger, self-bailing rafts through calm stretches and small but lively rapids.

Your guides also operate paddle assist trips on two Class 3 rivers: The Sunwapta River and the Fraser River. All rivers are unpredictable, with water levels fluctuating according to season and weather. These two great rivers are both located within a one hour drive of Jasper. Each day throughout the season you can raft either the Fraser or Sunwapta River. Whichever river offers the best ride on any particular day, is the river you raft that day. So book either river and your guides will pick the best river for your trip. They can guarantee a whitewater rafting adventure on a Class 3 river, from opening to closing day of the rafting season. A unique rear mount rowing frame is used, giving our guides optimal control of our specially designed self-bailing rafts.
