View grizzly bears as you travel through scenic British Columbia from Bella Coola. This tour package offers expert guiding in the remote Bella Coola Valley, the hottest new destination for quality grizzly bear viewing. Enjoy an interpretive tour with our registered biologist and wildlife photographer. There will be flexibility during the tour to enable you to capture the best photographs or wildlife and spectacular, remote pristine wilderness; and expert interpretation and guidance from a registered biologist. This trip takes place in Bella Coola Valley deep in the heart of the Central Coast of British Columbia, gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest. It is an interpretive wilderness tour into the heart of the central coast of British Columbia where there is a high density of grizzly and black bears. Our local knowledge allows you access to some fantastic sights and fascinating characters that call this place home.

Bella Coola Grizzly Bear Tour

This trip is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts and budding wildlife photographers alike wanting quality wildlife (BEAR!) viewing opportunities but don't want all the frills! This is a holiday with a difference for anyone with a love for nature. The trip heads away from the crowds into some of the most unspoilt areas where most tourists don't venture! The activity level of the trip is low and is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness ages.

Bella Coola Grizzly Bear Tour

Season: mid September to late September
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle.
Suggested Clothing: Bring appropriate clothing suitable for autumn weather. Warm jacket, hiking boots, rain gear. A detailed kit list will be sent.

Equipment Provided: Transport once in Bella Coola, park fees, equipment where necessary.
Transportation: Trips begin and end in Vancouver BC with the flight between Vancouver and Bella Coola included.
Accommodations: Accommodations in Bed & Breakfasts along the route. B&B's are quiet, clean and comfortable accommodation. Private double rooms will be allocated. There will be a supplement for those wanting a private single. Accommodations in Vancouver before and after the tour can be arranged for an additional cost.
Meal Information: All meals included in the tour. Local fare, such as salmon, feature prominently in the menus.
Guide Information: This tour will be accompanied by a professional tour guide. The local guides used throughout the trip are all residents and are selected on the basis of their skills, knowledge and unique characteristics. While qualifications and experience are essential requirements, it is also the local knowledge of the area which is an important element in leading a tour. The tour guide holds a current advanced wilderness first aid certificate and has experience in dealing with the symptoms often associated with spending time in the wilderness. The tour guide will have a comprehensive first aid kit to deal with most eventualities and emergencies. However it is advised that each individual has a basic first aid kit to deal with minor medical issues such as blisters, insect bites and sunburn.
Weather Information: The trip departures are scheduled for September, the best time for bear viewing when there is a high concentration of grizzlies congregating along the rivers to feed on the spawning salmon. While the weather can be unpredictable the days are usually clear sunny and warm.
