Polar bear and arctic wildlife viewing in Manitoba

This lodge is unique in that it offers polar bear and wildlife viewing in August and September, which means better weather, and you can see the stunning fall colours of the arctic tundra. The lodge is situated only a few hundred metres from the coast line and bears are often seen right up to the lodge's enclosed compound. The compound keeps guests, and bears safe. During the day you will venture out onto the tundra on guided tours to view the bears and other wildlife in their most natural setting. This is a very unique program and is sure to be the trip of a lifetime. The owners and staff routinely deal with the unique situations that arise from having Polar Bears in such close proximity with humans. There is an overwhelming abundance of wildlife in the area to photograph and enjoy. There is a variety of migratory birds including geese, wolves and moose. It is very common during the season to record over 400 bears passing by the lodge. The daily record from 2005 is 17 bears around the lodge in just 9 hours.
