ABOUT THIS REGION  CORPORATE MEETINGS & RETREATS

Alpine lodge in the Kootenays

A unique alpine destination for your next corporate meeting or retreat. This beautiful lodge is located in the Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia . During your 'down time' you can enjoy hiking from the comforts of this mountain refuge, which is perched high on a small knoll and offers exceptional views of summits and icefields, right from the dining room table. This is a wild place where few trod except for mountain goat, elk, mule deer, bear, wolf, wolverine and wild cat. Alpine flowers colour the landscape from end of July until the end of August. Golden alpine larches fill the basins from mid September to mid October. From the lodge you'll hike on historic mining trails and small foot paths that wander through the rugged alpine or follow high ridges to nearby summits to view an endless panorama of the Selkirk and Purcell Mountains.

Alpine lodge in the Kootenays

Situated at 7200 feet this lodge offers cozy and comfortable accommodations with a rustic mountain feel. While it is not a 5 star resort, many guests believe they are in heaven! In the area, there is varied alpine terrain suitable for novice and experienced hikers. The lodge is reached by a 5km trail, that takes about 2.5 hours to hike into the lodge. This is the preferred way to reach the lodge, however helicopter service is an option. The hiking trail into the lodge leads through sub-alpine fir and larch forests, close to numerous small creeks and cascading waterfalls. The trail meanders through alpine terrain and glacial moraines eventually leading to a mountain pass that offers exceptional views. Whether you are a photographer, artist or simply an alpine enthusiast looking for exceptional hiking, this is the perfect active vacation adventure destination.
