ABOUT THIS REGION  BEAR VIEWING TOURS

Marine wildlife cruise to view grizzly bears

On this Grizzly Bear Watching Journey on Vancouver Island you travel onboard a high speed covered vessel to the Orford River Valley located in picturesque Bute Inlet. This pristine river valley is home to 40 resident Grizzly bears and is also the historic home of the Homalco First Nation, one of the Coast Salish Tribes. Upon arrival you will be greeted by the Homalco aboriginal guides. You then travel along the Orford River Valley by mini bus to the security of specially designed Grizzly bear viewing platforms, situated along the river in various locations for maximum grizzly bear viewing. You’ll have the opportunity to witness the ancient autumn ritual of grizzly bears feasting on spawning salmon in the Canada’s true wilderness. The bear viewing platforms offer security so you can fully enjoy this glimpse into the lives of these great bears in their natural habitat. This magnificent river offers panoramic views.
