Rookies begin by going out in a sled with a guide but can soon drive a dog team on their own. By the 3rd or 4th day many are ready to try an overnight camping trip, if desired. At the end of the day Rookies can return to the ranch and help with evening feeding and share trail stories over a fine dinner. For the more adventurous, out on the trail there are Snowtrekker tents complete with a small stove or you can rough it and try "cold camping" on your sled just like Yukon Quest mushers!

This room has a double bed with bathroom. This is an eco-friendly ranch with solar power, well water, organic greenhouse and a recycling/composting program. |

| Weather Information: Average temperatures at this time of winter are between -2° and - 24° Celsius / 28 to -31 degrees Fahrenheit, but extremes may be as low as -45° Celsius / -50 Fahrenheit. |
| Comments: Under typical conditions, each guest drives a 6- to 8-dog team, while the guides drive 8-10 dogs or ride on a snowmobile (for safety and security). All our week-long trips feature one person per sled unless otherwise requested/specified. As our dogs are exceptionally strong, we try to determine the ideal size team for each individual client. Clients are able, if they want, to try driving a larger team. As we have an emphasis on learning adventures, we want people to be able to try new things and test their own limits, if they want to. |
