ABOUT THIS REGION  DOGSLEDDING

Dogsledding tours in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

Experience a traditional winter mode of transportation on one of these dogsledding expeditions in Cape Breton. Pay tribute to an important segment of Canadian history and fall in love with an indigenous species native to the far north – Canadian Eskimo Dogs. Whether sledding for a short day tour or overnight expedition, your instructors will guide you through the initial heart-stopping thrills and chills. Gradually, as your confidence builds, you’ll discover you are in full control of your team! Let us make a “musher” out of you! Each dogsledding package begins with an introduction to this ancient method of travel. Your guide will brief you on the mechanics of sledding, introduce you to your team, explain and demonstrate how the dogs are hitched to the sled and, finally, show you just how it’s done! For the next 2½ hours of the introduction segment, you’ll be the “musher” in command of your own team to prepare you for day-long sledding adventures.
