Rocky Mountain Explorer and Wildlife tour

Designed for those who want get off the beaten path and get into the park, the Rockies Wildlife Tour enables travellers to hike and walk some of the most scenic trails in the Canadian Rockies. You will explore seven provincial and national parks and a wide variety of terrain including spectacular alpine meadows, sweeping glaciers, hanging valleys and mountain forests and streams. The "off the beaten path" route includes an overnight canoe trip in Wells Gray Provincial Park and to numerous areas frequented by wildlife. You spend the last night in the luxury of a lakeside resort. Join us on this Rocky Mountain tour as you camp in the shadow of snow capped peaks, soak in hot springs and canoe on a crystal clear mountain lake.

Rocky Mountain Explorer and Wildlife tour

Your itinerary includes visits to Wells Gray Provincial Park, Mount Robson Provincial Park, Jasper, Banff and Yoho National Parks and Glacier National Park in BC. The Banff, Lake Louise and Yoho National Park areas offer endless hiking opportunities and you will visit Moraine Lake, Yoho Valley, Johnston Canyon and Bow Falls. This driving adventure is an active tour and participants should be ready for lots of walking and exploring.

Rocky Mountain Explorer and Wildlife tour

Season: June to September
Requirements: Sleeping bag, cost of optional activities, gratuities.
Suggested Items: Camera, daypack, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle.
Suggested Clothing: Warm coat, rain gear, sneakers, hiking boots, long pants, sweater, shorts, t-shirts, hat, bathing suit, towel.
Difficulty: Easy/Intermediate
Maximum Number of People: 8
Equipment Provided: 15 passenger maxi-van, driver, park fees, camping and cooking equipment, camping fees, guided walks, entrance fees to Hell's Gate tram, Jasper Tram and Sulphur Mountain hotsprings in Banff.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in Vancouver, BC.
Accommodations: Camping (Days 1,3, 5-8) in national and provincial parks; bunkhouse (on Day 2 and 4); Guesthouse (on Day 9); lakeside resort (Day 10). Hot showers on all days except Day 1 (when we camp by a river) and Day 3 (the canoe trip).
Meal Information: Food kitty on all days (local payment to tour leader of $200). These meals will include BBQs, pastas, salads, meats, vegetables, fruits and desserts and vegetarian diets are available.
Guide Information: All activities and sightseeing is led by an experienced leader familiar with the culture, geography, history and wildlife of the area. All drivers/leaders are first aid certified.
Weather Information: In the summer months, most areas of the Rockies offer warm and hot days and cool nights. Average temperatures are between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
