Excellent heli-skiing in the Purcell Mountains

This area of BC offers the ultimate deep powder heli-skiing experience. A five minute flight will take you up into the Purcell Mountains and to the ski area, which measures well over 2,000 square kilometers. There are well over 250 runs offering every conceivable exposure and type of terrain. Most of the runs lie between 3,000 and 1,200 meters. Your skiing takes place on glaciers, open slopes and in the trees.

The Purcell Mountains are well noted for reliable deep powder skiing. Your personal guide will choose the best runs suited to the weather and snow conditions, providing the perfect ski vacation. In the evening you can relax back in your hotel room, soak in the hot tub or enjoy the local nightlife.

Excellent heli-skiing in the Purcell Mountains

Season: December, 2012 to April, 2013
Requirements: Powder skis and equipment, ski boots. Ski rentals available.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Restrictions: Participants should be good intermediate skiers in regular ski areas.
Transportation: Trips originate and end in Golden, BC. Golden is located on highway # 1, 1.5 hours west of Banff, Alberta or 2 hours east of Revelstoke BC. Transportion arrangements to Golden, BC are available. The bus transfer from Banff/Lake Louise to Golden is $75 return plus tax. Kicking Horse ski resort is 20 minutes away.
Accommodations: Accommodations are in a local hotel in Golden.
Meal Information: Pack lunch supplied.
Guide Information: Your guides are all members of the Canadian and International Mountain Guides Association. They have training in avalanche forecasting, first aid and rescue techniques.
