ABOUT THIS REGION  MULTI ACTIVITY TRIPS - SUMMER

Peddle & paddle around Grand Manan Island

This multi-activity trip is the perfect combination of biking and kayaking. This trip will allow you to explore the scenic Bay of Fundy and Grand Manan Island and at same time learn the basic techniques of sea kayaking and cycle touring. You will have a chance to go where few have travelled and explore some of the most beautiful coastline in Canada. Protected channels and sheltered coves will allow you to master the basics of kayaking, making this trip the ideal introduction to the sport. Quiet and easy to control, sea kayaks enable you to see whales and other marine life up close, without disturbing their environment. Then, spend a few days on the island, riding around the many scenic trails. Abandoned lighthouses and quaint fishing villages are just a few of the sights you will see as you peddle around this island.

Peddle & paddle around Grand Manan Island

Between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia lies the Bay of Fundy and 22 miles off the coast of New Brunswick lies the island of Grand Manan, the largest of the Fundy islands. The island's only link to the mainland is a ferry that sails from New Brunswick. During this 90 minute crossing you can watch for porpoises and whales as the mainland fade into the distance. Driven by the famous giant tides of the Bay of Fundy, the water around Grand Manan is nurturing. The rich waters are home to an abundant variety of marine life and you will be astounded with the unspoiled natural surroundings and beauty of the island. Nutured by seacoast air, meadows burst into rich and vibrant colour and the island has been a meca for bird watchers for decades.
